charmed by the details

generous menufree upgradeluxurious spacecentral location
The hotel had complimentary toiletries from l'occitane, i found that to be quite a treat. breakfast included a generous menu with a selection of cooked-to-order options. i received a free upgrade to a suite, so i had lots of space. It felt luxurious. the location was central. I could easily walk to everything, including the train station.
the heating in my bedroom did not work. i still had the rest of the suite, so i used it for getting ready in the morning since it was very warm. there was also a constant problem with the toilet flushing continuously unless i pushed the buttons a certain way.

The location is GREAT! It is right in the heart of town. The facilities are elegant. Breakfast was delicious. There was a great location with ample free parking.
Bar staff provided poor service. The room was ridiculously HOT. The a/c did not go lower than 19c so I only got about 3 hours sleep. It was a little frustrating. The stairs up to the suite and bizarrely very dangerous marble stairs from bedroom to bathroom. They are LETHAL when your feet are wet.

spacious roomgood amenitiesheated floorpoor bedstained duvethole
The room was spacious and had good amenities. The robes were a nice touch , as was the heated floor in the bathroom. Coffee , tea and drinks in the room were of a high quality.
The bed was fair to poor , one heavy bed spread we pulled off , and same sheets for five nights with a hole in one of them. We pulled the cover off the duvet and it was covered in stains. Otherwise the cleanliness of the room was good.
